The Welcome Evaluation (Full day of daycare) is a vital first step in ensuring your dog feels safe, comfortable, and confident in our care. It allows us to observe how your pup responds to a new environment and helps our caregivers tailor the experience to their unique needs.

To help your dog feel secure and reduce stress during future visits, we require a day of daycare prior to any boarding stay. This visit builds trust and reassurance — showing your pup that Paws Pet Pad is a fun, safe place and that their favorite human will always come back for them.

On the first day we will determine the following:

1.Temperament Evaluation: Assess the dog's behavior with staff and other dogs to gauge sociability.

2. Socialization Trial: Introduce the dog to a small group of calm dogs to observe interactions.

3. Play Preferences: Observe what types of play the dog enjoys (fetch, tug, chasing).

4.Meeting Staff: Allow the dog to meet caregivers for comfort and trust-building.

5. Reaction to Environment: Observe how the dog reacts to different sounds, smells, and activities in the daycare.

6. Feeding Routine: Introduce the dog to the feeding area and observe eating habits.

7. Rest Time: Provide a quiet space for the dog to rest and see how they handle downtime.

8. Owner Communication: Discuss any specific concerns or needs with the dog's owner for tailored care.
